Election Day Around the Corner

We're into the swing of things in Barnstable with Election Day right around the corner. Barnstable citizens will have an opportunity to vote in the preliminary election on Tuesday, September 18th for at least one race (depending on where you live, it may be more).

For Tax Collector, the BarnstableBlogster hopes that Maureen Niemi and Gary Brown advance to the final elections. Why?

Because both have a record of accomplishment in the Town of Barnstable. Ms. Niemi is presently employed by the Tax Collector's Office. She obviously brings some hands on experience that would serve us well.

Gary Brown has many years of dedicated and committed service to the Town as a Town Councilor and a volunteer on many efforts. He also is a decorated Veteran which means much to the Blogster. He has the educational background and the experience to serve us well.

We hope Niemi and Brown advance.

In the Hyannis based precincts we have two preliminary contests. The Barnstable Blogster believes that Barnstable would be best served if Michael Hersey and James Munafo advance in Precinct 3 (although Eric Schwaab has waged a serious challenge) and Lou Gonzaga and James Tinsley in Precinct 9.

See you at the polls!

BB,

As we get closer to the elections, I hope that this blog will put out postive information on a regular basis regarding the elections.

Muffy has gone into full campaign mode, with his constant refrain of "we can do better;" as if many of us haven't been working to make Barnstable better for some time!

We need to continue to elect good people for our leadership roles, and need more information on the candidates' histories and goals.

Hiding behind photos of cute little family pets may fool some of the people some of the time, but I'm hoping that it doesn't fool our voters on election day.

Great picks BB. You have the pulse of Barnstable.

Right on BB about Muffy. He's a posuer and we're sorry he's gotten this far. We support Hersey who's young and has good ideas. Hopefully you'll get behind him.

When are you going to comment on the Charter Commission, BB?

Yea, what about ole "blood and guts" Milne coming out for the charter commission? Trying to best Crocker again?

Thank You!

I have received a lot of support from some solid people like you. People that live, work and have families here.

Schwaab can run, but he can't hide. He will be exposed for his inconsistent positions and irrational solutions.

Thanks again,
Mike Hersey

First KapeKog candidate Sean Walsh drops out and now Gary Lopez. Hey guys, you can't win if you don't play.

You should get your facts somewhat straight. Walsh's livelyhood was threatened. If I had a family, I'd have dropped out too. Lopez on the otherhand .... Walsh was performing a democratic service for the town. There's a lot of difference.

I know you'll not publish this, but at least the facts to you are known. You can publish and allow the lies to continue or do the right thing which you so often espouse.

Anon has his Walsh's mixed up. You're talking about Jim Walsh, you dope.
