CapeCog is really one person, Gary Lopez. Well o.k., two, if you count Lopez' gofer, John Julius.
For any person involved over the years in Barnstable politics, Gary Lopez has been seen as a do-nothing cheap shot artist who gets some perverse pleasure in attacking others while NEVER really getting anything done. He has lost all credibility with every local media outlet over the years for one simple reason. He can't be trusted. He'll stretch the truth and the facts so much, you wouldn't recognize them on a bet.
He has run for office many times but rarely gets any votes to mention. Why? Because people see him as a joke, a circus side show who is funny on occasion, but never meaningful and always humorous at someone else's expense.
If you believe him, he is responsible for everything that is good. But the successes that he claims are almost always completed by someone else. He is a legend in his own mind. If you doubt it, just ask him.
He's the type that when he meets his maker, he will wonder why there is no one at the funeral home to grieve. I have said it many times, but here it goes again. No one likes or respects a bully. And Gary Lopez is a bully who hides at home taking cheap shots at others. Can we say, gutless?

I see in the Patriot that KingKOG has pulled papers for the Charter Commission. This may be nothing more than a ploy to scare persons who disagree with him from running, as I'm sure the elections will be a regular topic in his "web of untruth", and he will use it to help stack the deck for his crazies to get elected by default.
While some might relish the chance to argue publicly with this King of Fools, I think his potential candidacy is a negative thing, as it will automatically lower the debates to his level (think sewerage).
I think it is another prime reason for us to find more quality candidates. We need to find more than 9 quality community people to run, thus ensuring that the Commission will include only persons interested in positive changes, excluding KingKOG's koolaid-drinking minions.
I have spoken with a few people in town who have some interest in running and would provide reasoned service...I hope that other readers are out there doing the same.
BB, I think it is great that Lopez is running. We'll see what the citizens, once again, really think of him.
If Lopez is running, then his lackey Julius must be too. Excellent.
We'll finally see how the citizens feel about the Hate Blogs.
BB- Now Lopez is a candidate. Can we say public disclosure?
